Hocus Pocus

Hocus Pocus
Three hundred years ago, the Sanderson sisters were hung after killing children in order to remain young and live forever. During that time, their legend has grown and on Halloween, the new kid in town, Max, who doesn?t believe in all of the "hocus pocus" inadvertently brings the witchy trio back to live. Now, with only one night before they turn to dust, the three sisters wreak havoc in order to make their spell complete. Here are a few movie mistakes to look for while watching "Hocus Pocus".

∙ Near the beginning of the movie, the Sanderson sisters drain Emily's life force and become younger. The close-up of Winifred when she says "Oh well, younger", shows the hood on the green sweater she has been wearing is on her heard. It cuts to the wider view of the trio when she says "It's a start" and the green sweater is gone.

∙ The children run up to the police officer on his motorcycle. There are noticeable mirrors on each side of it and his right hand is actually adjusting one. It cuts to a close-up when the officer asks "What's the problem", and the mirror is gone. They're back in the wider view when the officer gets off the bike.

∙ Dani finds her mom at the party in her Madonna pose. The front view of her mom with her left hand held out, shows she's wearing a wedding ring. In the close-up of Dani, where only her mom's left arm is shown, the wedding ring is gone.

∙ Mary takes the three brooms and sets them against the cemetery wall. In the close-up, when she says "I suggest we form a calming circle", the three brooms can be seen over her left shoulder and all are standing upright. After Winifred yells "I am calm", it cuts back to Mary and the broom on the end is now tilted over. The scene switches to Winifred and back to Mary and the broom is upright again. When it cuts to the wider view of them jumping, two of the brooms are knocked over and only one is upright. A few moments later, when the three sisters are in the circle chanting, the brooms can be seen crossed over each other, against a bench. But, when the bus arrives, and the witches go to get their brooms, they are now separated by a couple of feet.

∙ Mike's wife comes downstairs and sees him dancing with Sarah. The wider view shows Sarah's skirt is down to her ankles. It cuts to the wife and back to the two dancing and Sarah's skirt is now pulled up, enough to see the top of her leg.

"Hocus Pocus" (1993) stars Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy, Omri Katz, Thora Birch and Vinessa Shaw. It runs 96 minutes and is rated PG for some scary sequences and for language.
